Getting There

By air: Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is located approximately 18 kilometres northwest of the city centre. Nearly all flights which land here are domestic, although there are some international flights from Canada and Central American countries.

The best way to get from the city centre to is by bus. The New Orleans Tours Airport Shuttle Bus begins its service at 4am every day and continues until the day’s last flight. A one-way ticket costs approximately $10. The average taxi will set you back about $25 for one or two people. Every additional passenger after that costs $10.

By train or bus: All long haul trains and buses end their journeys at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal which is near the Superdome at 1001 Loyola Ave.

Getting Around

By streetcar: There are two streetcar lines in New Orleans. One runs along the whole way of St. Charles Avenue while the other is in operation along the river waterfront. As they are the oldest operating streetcars in America, they are undoubtedly an attraction in their own right.

By bus: New Orleans’ bus service is operated by the Regional Transit Authority (RTA). It serves most parts of the city and you can get basically anywhere in the city from bus routes which pass through the French Quarter.
