The one area which attracts most tourists in New Orleans is the French Quarter, otherwise known as Vieux Carré (Old Square). While its premier streets are Royal Street and Bourbon Street, this area of the city has hidden courtyards and streets and make sure to stroll down the riverfront. Best of all is its atmosphere as it always electric here, day or night.
Another of the New Orleans’ most pleasurable places to while away an afternoon is the Garden District. This is where you will come across the city’s Botanical Gardens which are regarded as one of the best in America.
Before leaving New Orleans make sure to leave an afternoon for a leisurely stroll down the Mississippi River. And an even nicer way to make your way up or down this celebrated river is by river cruise on one of the even more celebrated steamboats.
